ILIJIN X OKOK
Collaboration work painted between Jacqueline Östlind and Thomas Gunnarsson, painted on the same canvas, at the same time. A very playful, experimental journey between two artists having to share the same space. Thomas and Jacqueline where during this period very generous with he paint, letting it dry in big chunks, giving the paintings a lot of texture. During their exhibition in 2019 many visitors expressed the urge to touch - or even taste them.
SANDRO

Sandro is a turnable mixed media piece full of texture and color. Thomas and Jacqueline had a hard time agreeing on which direction to go. After a long process Jacqueline looked up at Thomas and said "I think I like it now". "Me too" said Thomas. Thrilled to finally agree on something Jacqueline picked it up from the table and hung it on the wall. "Why did you hang it upside down?" said Thomas.
We decided to sign it both ways and took turns during the exhibition to flip it around.

While AI as turning into a common hot topic, Jacqueline & Thomas painted this big piece reflecting on what dystopic or utopian affects this new technology may bring to our world. In 2019 it was a part of the exhibition "Målar du något fult så målar jag över" (If you paint something ugly, I'll paint over it).

This piece was a big dispute between Thomas and Jacqueline. With Jacqueline being in a bad mood, the piece collected many layers over any non-satisfactory parts. But she couldn't be satisfied with anything that day, so in the end Thomas had enough of complaints and confiscated it into another room. Jacqueline saw Thomas fighting with the painting through the glass wall. Scraping, spraying, tearing and smearing textures in a sort of aggressive manner. She did not intervene until his energy had changed. In the end he added the "dead, white eyes" and exhaled hopelessly. Jacqueline stepped in the room. "I love it"

This piece was painted on stage during an event with Campo Viejo. Two big canvases where set up next to each other and Thomas & Jacqueline would take turns on each of the canvases until finished. One was sold on the spot, and this one is patiently waiting in storage.
